Nordic Access strengthened UK ties and advanced HealthTech collaboration by attending the WMHTIA International Assembly in Birmingham on December 5th. This visit sets the foundation for increased cross-border innovation.
One Stop Funnel, a project co-funded by Nordic Innovation, is set to conclude its final phase in October 2025. While the funded period is ending, the Nordic Access Service is set to continue, preserving this vital pathway to the Nordic market. This initiative was established to strengthen Nordic health technology value chains and testbed networks. Its goal is to support sustainable growth, innovation, entrepreneurship, and the international competitiveness of Nordic companies.
Transitioning into a sustainable service model, Nordic Access will continue to operate as a streamlined “one-stop shop” for companies seeking testing and validation for their solutions. This continuation will be offered with a pricing structure, allowing the platform to maintain its robust ecosystem for cross-border collaboration. By connecting innovators with municipalities and real-world testbeds, Nordic Access will carry on its mission to demystify the market entry process and provide companies with vital market intelligence and direct access to a network of test facilities.
The tangible impact of the project is best seen at the local level, where technology is being integrated to solve real-world challenges. In Denmark, Odder Municipality has become a prime example of this success. Local news reports from TV2 Østjylland and Ingeniøren highlight the municipality’s strategic focus on implementing “digital and welfare technology solutions first.” This forward-thinking approach, facilitated by connections made through Nordic Access, provides companies with a clear and receptive environment to pilot solutions that can enhance citizen care and operational efficiency.
Furthermore, the project has enabled concrete testing of innovative products in live care environments. A compelling case study comes from the Satakunta Testbed in Finland, which documented the experiences of using ArtPlayer, a service for providing art experiences, in elderly care. This collaboration showcases the project’s ability to match a company’s unique solution with a specific need within the healthcare system, allowing for invaluable user feedback and product validation.
In conclusion, Nordic Access has proven to be more than just a network; it is a vital catalyst for growth and collaboration. By simplifying market access, fostering international partnerships, and enabling impactful local pilot projects, it has created a dynamic ecosystem that benefits technology companies, municipalities, and, most importantly, the citizens they serve.
