Strengthening Nordic-UK Cross-Border Innovation

Nordic Access strengthened UK ties and advanced HealthTech collaboration by attending the WMHTIA International Assembly in Birmingham on December 5th. This visit sets the foundation for increased cross-border innovation.

The assembly was organized by WMHTIA in collaboration with the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation, Innovate UK, and the West Midlands Combined Authority. It brought together nearly 300 UK and international health tech innovators, researchers, suppliers, and sector specialists at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. The Nordic Access Team was among the key international attendees.

For Nordic Access, the visit was instrumental in establishing direct connections that will facilitate a two-way flow of innovation. During the assembly, one of Nordic Access’s project partners from Region Västerbotten, Kenth Soderstrom took center stage as speaker and also panelist in a key discussion. This participation further solidified the project’s visibility as well as extended a direct invitation to UK-based companies seeking testing opportunities across the Nordics.

Post-Assembly Collaborations and Expanded Networks

Since the Birmingham assembly, the networks established by Nordic Access have rapidly evolved into tangible collaborations. Notably, Nordic Access has partnered with several key organizations, including HealthTech Enterprise, to deliver insightful webinars. These sessions focus on market entry strategies and navigating the healthcare landscapes in both the Nordic and UK regions, aiming to bridge knowledge gaps and provide practical guidance for companies entering new markets. It has also attracted UK-based companies to participate in Nordic Access, seeking opportunities to test their innovations in the Nordic region.

The strategic alliances forged at the WMHTIA International Assembly mark a new chapter in UK-Nordic health tech collaboration. With Nordic Access playing a key role in connecting UK companies with crucial testing opportunities in the Nordics, the momentum for innovation is undeniable. This thriving partnership is not just about expanding markets; it’s about accelerating the development of solutions that will have a profound and lasting impact on global healthcare, and we are ready to be a part of it.
